Position Summary:
The Operations Warehouse Internship provides hands-on experience in a fast-paced distribution environment with a strong focus on warehouse operations and process improvement. Interns will gain exposure to core warehouse functions including receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping while working alongside frontline operational leaders.
A key component of this internship is the opportunity to lead a special warehouse improvement project focused on identifying operational challenges and developing innovative solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, safety, or productivity within the warehouse. Interns will analyze operational data, observe workflows, and collaborate with leadership to propose and potentially implement new processes.
This role is ideal for students pursuing degrees in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related fields who are interested in operational problem-solving and continuous improvement within distribution operations.

Primary Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
  • Assist with daily warehouse activities including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Support inventory control activities such as cycle counts, stock verification, and investigating inventory discrepancies.
  • Observe warehouse safety procedures and participate in safety audits and walkthroughs.
  • Learn to utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and radio frequency (RF) scanning equipment.
  • Work alongside operations supervisors to understand workflow planning and labor utilization.
Operational Analysis & Continuous Improvement
  • Observe warehouse processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or opportunities for improved accuracy.
  • Assist in tracking and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, productivity, dock-to-stock time, and inventory variance.
  • Support Lean and continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational excellence.
  • Help develop or refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
Special Project - Warehouse Innovation & Efficiency
  • Conduct a focused analysis of a warehouse operational challenge (ex: picking accuracy, slotting efficiency, staging processes, workflow optimization, etc.).
  • Gather operational data and frontline feedback to identify root causes of inefficiencies.
  • Develop recommendations for new processes, tools, or layout improvements to improve efficiency, accuracy, or productivity.
  • Present findings and proposed solutions to warehouse leadership.
  • Where possible, assist with pilot testing or implementation of recommended improvements.
Internship Program Dates: 8 weeks; June 1, 2026 - July 24, 2026
Starting Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Work Schedule:
  • Weeks 1-4, shift will be Monday through Friday, normal business hours.
  • Weeks 5-8, shift will be Sunday through Thursday, afternoon shift.
Requirement to work in-office 5 days per week.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment and learning operational processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and basic data analysis.
• Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout shift
• Able to lift, stack, and/or pull products off shelves, as well as replenish product, from various heights weighing between 10-35 pounds and generally up to between approximately 60 and 90 pounds, depending on the location, throughout shift
• Able to work in multi-temperature environments, i.e., cooler, freezer and dry

Preferred qualifications:

• Previous internship or experience in warehouse, distribution, or supply chain operations.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or operational data reporting tools.
• Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
• Experience operating or exposure to material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.) is a plus.
