Job Description:

Green Rabbit, recently acquired by Performance Food Group and working under their Vistar Retail Segment, is a cold storage facility and we are looking for an Overnight Warehouse Lead to offer support in our cooler and freezer. Schedule is Sunday - Wednesday, with potential OT on Thursday.

Position Summary: Oversees and provides guidance to warehouse associates within the cooler and freezer environment. Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, this role ensures safe and efficient workflow, compliance with quality and food safety standards, and the accurate handling of inventory and products. The lead serves as a key point of contact for day-to-day activities, supports team performance, and helps maintain the efficient flow of product through production and distribution processes.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Follow all preferred work methods, safety policies, and procedures per company guidelines.

  • Ensure the work area is safe and immediately report unsafe conditions or behaviors.

  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety gear appropriate for cooler and freezer environments.

  • Conduct daily safety checks on assigned forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.

  • Assist and guide warehouse associates in cooler and freezer operations, including inventory selection, auditing, replenishment, returns, and product handling.

  • Perform damage control checks on received items and coordinate with supervisors for disposition according to company policy.

  • Support shipping, receiving, and product movement as needed to maintain workflow efficiency.

  • Ensure productivity and accuracy standards are met for all assigned tasks.

  • Provide oversight, direction, and coaching to warehouse associates in assigned cooler and freezer areas.

  • Assign and monitor daily tasks, provide real-time feedback, and support team problem-solving.

  • Provide backup support to warehouse management as needed.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of cooler/freezer areas, loading docks, and workspaces.

  • Remove and replace forklift/pallet jack batteries as needed and complete all required vehicle inspection checklists.

  • Secure all equipment and complete necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.

  • Flex to perform other warehouse or operational duties as assigned to support the team and business needs.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
1-2 years of warehouse and/or distribution environment
Team Lead experience
Must be able to work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime for the position
Able to work in a multi-temperature environment (dry, cooler, freezer)
Must be able to stand, walk, reach and lift repeatedly throughout shift
Able to lift and stack product between 10-35 pounds and up to 80 pounds occasionally throughout shift
Pass pre-employment drug test
Basic computer skills to include MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred qualifications:

2-4 years of warehouse and/or distribution environment using forklift and/or pallet jack
Experience working in cold storage facilities
Administrative support work experience
Warehouse systems experience i.e. Voxware, scanning, AS400, formula based pay plans
Foodservice distribution or related industry experience
OSHA Forklift operator certificate
