Position Details:
  • Ideal candidate will be located in Lebanon, TN or Richmond, VA. Remote options may be considered for candidates with food service distribution experience.

Position Purpose:
The Manager, Strategic Sourcing is responsible for overseeing the procurement and sourcing activities within an organization to ensure cost-effective and efficient supply chain management. Here are their key responsibilities: develop and implement sourcing strategies, cost management, supplier relationship management, risk management, cross-functional collaboration, and team management.
Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
  • Create and execute efficient sourcing and category management strategies.
  • Innovate sourcing procedures to attain maximum efficiency.
  • Analyze and calculate procurement costs and suggest methods to decrease expenditure.
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
  • Identify and explore lucrative sourcing opportunities through industry research and networking.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Negotiate contracts with key suppliers, including costs and terms of supply, service, and quality.
  • Assess, manage, and mitigate risks in procurement processes.
  • Estimate risks and apply risk minimizing techniques.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
  • Work closely with the procurement department to identify and pursue new supplier opportunities.
  • Develop and manage the procurement team.
  • Hire, train, and manage procurement department employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED or
Equivalent Experience.
6 + months Related experience in foodservice distribution.

Preferred qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, logistics or related field.
At least 1+ year or more of food distribution experience.
Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP)
Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) - APICS
