Job Description:

Position Details:

  • Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday
  • Start Time: From 5:45am until job is completed (until approx. 3pm)
  • Pay Rate: $16 per hour
  • Work Location: 240 SW 32nd St, Ft Lauderdale, FL 33315

Position Purpose
Review work schedule, perform safety check on equipment, obtain supplies required to perform the work and prepare for operationsCheck cutting list and obtain appropriate packaging materials (boxes, labels, tape, bags, wrap) from storage with pallet jack
Manually assemble boxes-cases, make labels and fill Cryovac sealer with appropriate wrap as required
Load finished cuts of meat from tubs into Cryovac sealer, raise and lower doors as required and place sealed meat on work-table
Manually pack meat into cases, label and seal cases with tape gun / or strapping machine and stack finished cases on pallets
Perform general housekeeping duties, clean packaging work area and equipment, maintain and abide safety and quality regulations and standards as required
At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or general education degree
Experience: 0 - 6 months related experience
Physical Requirements:
Lifting up to 20lbs, pushing/pulling up to 20lbs.
Skills:
Ability to work in cold and wet environments.
Ability to perform repeated tasks with attention to detail.
Continuous fine hand manipulation including grasping, reaching, holding, carrying, etc., must be able to bend, stretch, reach overhead and climb.
Team player with professional, positive attitude and good work ethics.

Preferred qualifications:

Preference given to food production or processing facility experience.
Experience in fast-paced working environments preferred
Familiarity in SQF/HACCP environment preferred
Spanish speaking or Bi-lingual Spanish-English
