Position Summary:

We are looking for a dynamic manager to be responsible for the freight activities within Core-Mark. Strategically supporting the outbound transportation network for redistribution and the inbound logistics network for all Convenience locations. This individual will be responsible for the P&L statement and analysis of outbound, inbound and OpCo opportunities for managed freight opportunities while actively seeking efficiencies and cost savings.

This position is a remote role based out of Core-Mark International in Westlake, Texas. They will report to the Director of Vendor Relations & Logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the training, development, and daily duties of the logistics department

  • Support the Outbound Logistics activities for redistribution by engaging with 3rd party carriers

  • Negotiate with vendors and carriers to enhance logistical leverage

  • Proactively seek creative solutions to problems and implement changes

  • Approve carrier invoices, and ensure freight claims are processed timely and accurately

  • Oversee and support the TMS and logistics systems to ensure data accuracy and utilization

  • Maintain open communication with Operations, Purchasing, Vendors and Carriers to ensure timely delivery of products.

  • Manage and evaluate processes to look for cost-effectiveness and improved efficiency

  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements

  • Additional projects and/or duties as assigned

Qualifications:

5+ years logistics experience in the wholesale/retail industry with food distribution a plus
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent business experience 
Experience with Transportation Management Systems, Microsoft Office; and SAP.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
