Job Description:

Green Rabbit (Now Part of the Vistar Team) is an E-Commerce logistics company seeking a Lead Quality Coordinator for our Whitestown, Indiana warehouse. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day quality operations while leading, coaching, and supporting a team of Quality Coordinators to ensure food safety, quality compliance, and operational excellence across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Oversight

  • Serve as the on-floor lead for the Quality team, providing direction, coaching, and support to ensure consistent execution of quality and food safety standards.
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor workload, and ensure coverage to meet operational demands.
  • Act as a point of escalation for quality-related issues, partnering with management to resolve concerns.
  • Train and mentor new and existing team members on quality procedures, documentation, and best practices.
  • Provide feedback on team performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Quality & Food Safety Operations

  • Ensure all food safety and quality parameters are adhered to and maintained throughout the facility.
  • Assist with checking outbound packages to verify product accuracy and integrity.
  • Verify correct products are packed in customer orders.
  • Collect in-process and finished product samples.
  • Conduct standardized qualitative and quantitative testing to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Follow established protocols for accurately documenting testing and inspection results.
  • Identify deficiencies, non-conformances, or trends and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Identify and isolate products that do not meet food safety or quality standards.
  • Support troubleshooting of quality issues and participate in root cause analysis as needed.
  • Review food safety and quality records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

Cross-Functional & Compliance Support

  • Actively participate in plant teams such as HACCP, Food Safety, and Safety committees.
  • Partner with Operations, Warehousing, and Management to drive quality awareness and compliance.
  • Perform audits, inspections, and follow-ups to ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in food safety, quality assurance, or quality control in a warehouse or food distribution environment preferred.
Prior lead, trainer, or informal supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of food safety principles (HACCP, GMPs, sanitation, temperature control).
Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Experience may include a combination of work experience and education
Must read, write and communicate in English.
Must be able to work 8-to-10-hour shift (days or nights) on a rotating schedule
Must follow GMP Policy
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Required: High School Diploma
Preferred: 1 year of QA lead experience

Preferred qualifications:

Bachelors
1 - 3 Years
• Prefer experience in Distribution Center Food Service Operations, Quality Assurance, Research & Development, Food Production/Operations, Supply Chain, or related discipline
Preferred: GFSI Experience (SQF, BRC and etc.)
