Job Description:

Green Rabbit, recently acquired by Performance Food Group and working under their Vistar Retail Segment, is a cold storage facility looking for a 2nd Shift Inventory Supervisor to join our growing team!

Position Summary
The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all inventory control activities during 2nd shift operations. This role ensures inventory accuracy, proper handling of product, and compliance with company processes while leading and supporting inventory team members. The Inventory Supervisor works closely with operations, warehouse leadership, and quality teams to maintain accurate inventory records and support efficient order fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support inventory control activities during 2nd shift operations
  • Ensure accurate inventory counts through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliations
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, variances, and adjustments
  • Maintain inventory accuracy within the warehouse management system (WMS)
  • Enforce proper inventory handling, storage, labeling, and FIFO/FEFO practices as applicable
  • Coordinate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to minimize inventory errors
  • Train, coach, and monitor inventory team members to ensure adherence to procedures
  • Ensure the safe operation of all material handling equipment and compliance with company health and safety programs
  • Promote a culture of safety by reinforcing safety guidelines during daily team meetings and through ongoing observation and coaching
  • Maintain warehouse security at the conclusion of the shift, including securing the facility and setting alarms as required
  • Monitor productivity, accuracy, and compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards
  • Prepare reports related to inventory accuracy, adjustments, and trends
  • Support physical inventories and audits as required
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety/quality standards, and OSHA requirements
  • At times, perform work in cooler or freezer environments as required by operations
  • Escalate risks, shortages, or recurring issues to management with recommended solutions
  • Occasional weekends may be required
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
  • Ability to work in warehouse conditions, including ambient, cooler, and freezer environments

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; additional education a plus
• 2+ years of inventory control or warehouse experience, including lead or supervisory experience
• Strong understanding of inventory processes, cycle counting, and reconciliation
• Experience using WMS and basic Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook)
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lead, coach, and hold team members accountable
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment
• Ability to work 2nd shift hours consistently

Preferred qualifications:

• Associate's degree or 2-year technical degree in business management, logistics, or a related field
• 4-6 years of warehouse experience within the foodservice industry
• Prior supervisory or team lead experience in a warehouse or distribution environment
• Experience working in cold storage environments (cooler/freezer)
• OSHA forklift operator certification
