The Industrial Engineer has a key role in improving the productivity, cost effectiveness, and operational performance of our food service distribution centers. This position owns the maintenance and validation of Engineered Labor Standards and supports the Labor Management System used to measure associate performance and administer warehouse incentive pay. The Industrial Engineer analyzes warehouse processes, develops and delivers training, and partners with operations to implement improvements. The role also supports major initiatives such as warehouse slotting, process improvement, and system implementations. As a valued team member, you will collaborate effectively within the department and the organization as required and perform any duties assigned to best serve the company.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Establish and maintain Engineered Labor Standards to ensure precise tracking of productivity and incentive compensation.
Conduct regular time studies and assessments of engineered labor standards in conjunction with operational processes to validate their accuracy.
Analyze and improve warehouse processes, workflows, and systems to drive enhancements, improve efficiency, and reduce operational costs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements aligned with labor standards and system capabilities.
Develop, deliver, and continuously improve training for Vistar's Labor Management System, Engineered Labor Standards, preferred methods, and performance management.
Provide training, analysis, and support for major projects and system initiatives, including warehouse slotting, building relocation support, and operational excellence initiatives.
Perform other related duties as assigned
This role requires approximately 75% travel, must be near large airport

Qualifications:

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related engineering degree

1-4 years of experience in Industrial Engineering, distribution, manufacturing, or warehouse operations

Training experience

Required proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Working knowledge of warehouse or transportation operations, inventory management, and supply chain processes.

Process Optimization: Ability to analyze and optimize workflows, reducing waste, and improving efficiency

Cost Management: Developing cost-effective strategies to minimize expenses while maintaining the efficiency and quality

Preferred qualifications:

Experience with Engineered Labor Standards or Labor Management Systems

Experience conducting time studies or work-measurement analysis

Foodservice industry experience strongly preferred

Experience supporting warehouse slotting
