Position Summary:
Core-Mark is hiring a Senior Transportation Manager, Corporate Operations to join our Distribution Network leadership team. This role provides strategic leadership and operational support across multiple operating companies (OpCos), driving transportation excellence through standardized methodologies, best practices, and performance management. The Senior Transportation Manager partners closely with OpCo leadership and Corporate Operations to ensure transportation strategies align with Core-Mark's supply chain objectives, financial targets, and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop, execute, and sustain strategic and tactical transportation policies, programs, and objectives that support OpCo and enterprise-wide success
  • Partner with OpCo Operations teams to design, improve, and standardize processes, methodologies, and performance metrics
  • Collaborate with Corporate Operations to ensure company initiatives, business objectives, and implementation timelines are met
  • Lead strategic planning initiatives to develop and execute key transportation objectives across the OpCos
  • Evaluate distribution and transportation projects related to productivity, routing, staffing, workflows, and asset utilization
  • Assess, recommend, and support the implementation of transportation management systems and related technologies
  • Drive financial performance by optimizing productivity, controlling costs, and ensuring accurate budgets and forecasts
  • Monitor transportation KPIs and metrics; proactively identify trends and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Develop and execute short-term and long-term action plans to address operational gaps and improvement opportunities
  • Provide full project management oversight, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and project closeout
  • Lead and reinforce safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Core-Mark standards

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; equivalent experience considered
· 5-7 years of progressive transportation and distribution management experience
· Experience in Convenience, Broadline, Foodservice, or Direct Store Delivery (DSD) environments strongly preferred
