Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Transportation Manager to join our team!
The person in this position will manage all aspects of the transportation function in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment, including selection of qualified drivers, routing, driving, safety, unloading, fleet maintenance, customer/driver relationships, and Department of Transportation (DOT) and Operating Company (OpCo) compliance.
Below is a summary of duties:
- Involvement with the driver selection and orientation process, handling employee relations issues including disciplinary action, monitoring DOT and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) compliance
- Managing Transportation Supervisors
- Monitoring the routing process to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Prepares annual transportation operating budget; performs cost analyses (e.g., truck leases, fuel consumption, etc.) and coordinates financial reporting.
- Oversees day-to-day administration of delivery function
- Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
4 years transportation experience including in-depth
knowledge of DOT regulations, experience with computerized fleet management systems, and team lead or supervisory experience.
Preferred QualificationsBachelors degree in Business management, logistics or related field
