Position Purpose: Oversee the supervisory practices of all fleet maintenance activities at the local facility maintaining inventory control of parts, work orders, supervising fleet technicians and maintenance billing practices. This position has supervisory responsibility for all in-house fleet activities.
Position Responsibilities:- Supervisory accountability over billing and maintenance practices within the fleet shop environment. Develop and maintain guidance and counsel to complete repairs in a timely manner
- Analyze parts inventory against work orders insuring proper billing practices while operation within the parts budget
- Ensure maintenance work is completed in accordance of all State, Federal and Company standards
- Ensure facility remains compliant with fleet maintenance policies and corporate purchasing guidelines
- Develop and maintain a close working relationship with in-house technicians to improve planning and productivity
- Develop and maintain relationships with 3rd party maintenance vendors on repairs outsourced for timely return to service operations
- Assist fleet when needed in a mechanical capacity for preventative maintenance
- Responsible for the tire program; tire casing asset management
- Audit mechanics performance
- Conduct performance reviews
- Maintain valid Commercial Class A driver's license and DOT medical certification
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
Required Education: 1 - 3 years
Fleet Shop or Heavy Equipment Mechnical Environment
Preferred QualificationsAssociates/2-year technical: Air Brake Certified, Federal DOT Inspection Certified
1 - 3 years
Supervisory experience, trade experience in diesel- or gas-powered equipment, tractor trailer CMV and ASE Certifications
